Why is there Blood in my Stool?
I have been seeing blood in my stool for a really long time. Maybe even for years. But it always goes away, and there is never any pain or discomfort involved. I know I should be asking a doctor and I have read many articles on it, but I am looking for personal situations now. My job involves sitting for hours at a time, as I am a tattoo artist. I have asked in the past and have been told, it’s probably just bleeding hemorrhoids or internal discomfort from sitting so many hours. This would explain a lot. But now that I am getting older (I am 40), I’m worried that it could be something worse. Are there any other people who are “constant sitters” at work, and have had this issue? What was the outcome?
It is very red in color, so I know it is not blood from deeper in my colon. It always passes over time (sometimes a week and a half, sometimes a few days), and it never comes with any pain other than maybe a bloated feeling and a general feeling of stomach upset.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
