Is my boyfriend depressed, or just a lazy jerk?
My boyfriend and I have been together for several years, and we live together. I babysit children in my home so it has to be kept clean. Well, my boyfriend has absolutely no respect for my job. I always go to bed around 10 or 11 every night. He stays up all night drinking and when I wake up early in the morning, the first thing I have to do is clean up all the beer bottles, trash and dirty dishes out of the living room before the kids get there. And then, the first thing I see when I walk in the kitchen is more dirty dishes, crumbs everywhere and food from the night before still sitting on the counter. I’m at a breaking point, I can’t live like this. I’m trying to have compassion for him but it seems like he’s using his “depression” to just be a lazy jerk. We haven’t had sex in 10 months, we never kiss, hug or hold hands. I need intimacy and he’s unwilling to make any changes in our relationship. Should I keep trying or is it time to move on?
