How to successfully appeal a parking citation?
I temporarily parked in the campus housing lot because the three visitor parking spaces directly in front of the community center were occupied and there is no other available lot to park at. My friend advised that it would be alright to park in the back lot since we would not take a long time to print out my community assistant application (ironically to be able to work in one of the campus housing complexes). He actually said it might be worse to leave my car unattended with my emergency lights on in front of the community center. Of course I was extremely wary and did not want to park in the back even if I did have a student permit, but not a resident permit. I do not think we took more than 20-25 minutes but lo and behold I found a citation on my car. I appealed once with the below statement and was denied. Is there anyway I could re-appeal successfully?
I went to VDC to print and submit my Community Assistant application however there
was no parking in the designated parking stalls in front of the community center. My
friend advised that since we would only be there for no more than 25 minutes we
could park temporarily in the back. I have paid for my own student parking permit
and did not believe it wiser to park in an undesignated area in front of the
community center. You can verify when I left upon submitting my application.
